Today in science we made sherbet. we used sugar, baking soda, citric acid and tartaric acid. Then We tried all of them separately. The tartaric acid was Bad same as the baking soda but the citric acid was ok. But the sugar was the best of them all. At the end we got to try other people's sherbet I think my group had one of the best

Why Dogs are better than cats
Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats
You might be thinking why do I choose Dogs over cats.
Firstly why would you pay up to $1,200 for something that is not so tame. Usually people would buy cats and then let them do what they want.
Why would you pay for something that does that?
Secondly, See with dogs most breeds are friendly and nice. They can cost up to $1,200 or more. But they don’t run away and come back at the middle of the night. And stay for 5 minutes before leaving again. When you come home would you rather have a warm welcome or no welcome. Dogs really miss their owners when they are gone. Unlike cats, cats just don’t care.
Lastly Dogs will give you love until the day they die. Cats will make you pay for every mistake you've ever made since the day you were born. Also Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand most words you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap.
So in my opinion I think Dogs are better than cats. You don’t have to agree with me it's Only an opinion. Well anyways thank you for reading.
music month/Passport
For the last few week we have been doing passport activity's. where their are 30 activity's to do. The category's are Verbal/Talking, Visual, Doing, History & culture, Knowledge and Music.
Your goal is to reach 200 points by doing activity's. some activity's give you 10 points some give you 20 and the max is 50 points.
But it must be to the teachers standard or you don't get points.

Science
Since last week we we're making spud guns out of plastic straws and raw potato's.
You are probably wondering how? What you do first is jab the straw into potato and then their should be a chunk of potato in the plastic straw. And do the same to the other side and then you use a square stick to push one side of the potato to the other end and if your lucky enough it might go with a pop!! Sadly my spud gun did not work. So I took a minute to think and I thought that maybe it is the type of straw that I'm using. But at the end of the day I enjoyed this experiment very much.

Rarotonga Trip
2 months ago I went snorkeling in Rarotonga. At first I as a bit scared because I had never swam with fish before. But then I thought the only reason I wanted to come was so I can snorkel. So I jumped in. As soon as I jumped in. I could see a school of fish. Then I realized why was I scared in the first place. But then saw a moray eel. That was when I realized why I as scared. I was scared because I didn't know what was under the water. I ignored the eel for the rest of the day while I swam with fish and explored the area.
On the third day I decided to swim as far out as I could than anyone else. So I started to swim. It took me around 10 minutes and then I realized why no one was there. It was because a massive wall of rock and corl and if you were to walk on it you would get lots of cuts and bruises plus the waves are like walls to the deep pacific ocean and I don't really wanna swim with blue wales.

Vertebrates
Today we learned about how animals are classified into groups. Animals are either vertebrates (which means they have a spine) or invertebrates which don't have a spine).
Vertebrates are put into five groups. The are mammals, birds, fish and amphibians. Mammals have fur or hair and give birth to live young.Birds have feathers and lay hard eggs. Reptiles are cold-blooded and lay soft eggs. Amphibians breathe through their skin and need to keep their skin moist. Fish breathe through gills and have fins.
5 examples of each type:
Mammals:Cow, Horse, Bear,Dog, Human
Reptiles: Snake, Lizard, Alligators, Turtle
Amphibians: Newt, frog, toad, salamander and a caecilian
Fish: Squid, Sharks, Brain fish,

my speech
Hello
Have you ever wanted to be a scout ?
Well... first you will need is knowledge and what better way to find knowledge is then through an experienced person. Well you’re in luck because that person is me.
So the first thing you need to know is that their are different ranks.
The lowest rank is Kea’s then Cubs which is the one I am at the moment and the last one that I know is Scouts.
I have joined Cubs at the beginning of this year and I really enjoy our weekly adventures.
We meet every Wednesday night and each week we do different activities.
One of my favourite ones was when we learned orientering. We climbed up Mt Eden when it was dark. to find different prizes using campuses and maps of the area.
The other one is when we went to the beach fishing , one of the cubs caught two snappers at once then we smoked them by the fire and had dinner there.
So as you can see cubs life is fun but tough sometimes. and I am looking forward to more adventures.
Now I’ll tell some interesting facts:

Now I’ll tell some interesting facts:
We start our meetings by raising a flag and it has to be done in complete silence. That’s how we show respect.
We shake hands with our left hand because people would have there shield in there left hand so they would had drop their shield and then shake hands without protection
We build bridges, survival bracelets, tie knots.
We get to meet interesting people.
We talk a lot about recycling and how to protect our nature. Next thing i’m going to be talking about is.
Why is scouting so important Scouting is all about building confidence and self-esteem, learning important life skills and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure, education, and fun!
To finish this speech I would like you to have a think of how important Scouts really are, they are not just about fun and adventures. They are important and we need more of them.
I firmly believe. I have learned a lot being a Cub and there is so much more to do. I would encourage you to become one and be proud of it as much as I am. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Paintball
It was a normal day when me and my friends went to paintball. Well it was a boiling day, I felt excited and nervous at the same time. It was me and my friends Otis, Phillip, Tom, Riley and Fin and we were with other people we didn't know which was cool.
The map ws covered with small mountains which gave us an advantage plus the grass was long. We were at the Spawn Point.
The map ws covered with small mountains which gave us an advantage plus the grass was long. We were at the Spawn Point.
Me and Otis lay down in the grass very quiet so the other teams didn't not see us. 'SPAT' I look at myself but I didn't get hit. I looked beside me there was a slat 'pow pow' Otis took some shots. I didn’t know what he was shooting at, probably the guy that tried to hit, us well what was close maybe to close. I decide to go back down the mountain, Otis followed me, we ran to where everyone was.
Some people looked like they got hit.Someone got hit with a red paintball it looked like blood he looked like he was in pain. So now Riley and Phillip looked like they are going behind enemy lines which would be a big risk so I just decide to patrol the sides where no one was in case we were ambushed.
Two minutes later bang bang I was being hit Well none of them hit me which was lucky then I dive to the Ground and I shot him so he had to go to his spawn point. Then Otis comes he assisted me well we ran back to the spawn point 321 game over ahhh finally game over yes then I said “that was a tough game aye Otis” “yeah” Otis said. ok that's all I’m typing because if I type the whole thing it would be like ten pages and I’m not doing that.

Country poster
This is my country poster I made in class. It took me a week to finish it. I am really proud of my work. It was about Norway and i had to research lots of information about the country on the internet and in books. I choose Norway because it sounds like a really nice country.
My street
My street was usual enough: it had a lot of trees, a road, a store, a spot in the sun.
Over some houses there is a park I always go to.

So as you can see it is nice place to live.

A Camp Moment
In this picture, me and my camp group are at Long Bay Beach Reserve. We have built a raft with only ropes, plastic barrels and wood planks.
The best moment was when a wave came and we all fell off.

The Crazy Storm
This is my sense poem about the storm.
I see outside furniture ram into the dark grey walls
I hear the candles crackling creepily
I smell the bitter sting of smoke
I taste the damp cold air of the misty house
I touch the hollow wet walls of the gloomy garage
It makes me feel hollow inside.
